The authorities of Puebla have established a deadline for Marilyn Cote, a local psychiatrist, to present her valid academic and professional documents. According to Araceli Soria, Secretary of Health of the state, if Cote fails to prove she is a doctor or does not have the required documentation to operate her office, she will face penalties that could include fines or arrest for up to 36 hours.
So far, the whereabouts of Marilyn Cote are unknown, who has been reported by five people and is being investigated by the Puebla Prosecutor's Office. After it was discovered that she had incorrectly diagnosed patients and that her professional profile was false, Governor Sergio Salomón has confirmed that the deadline given to the psychiatrist to validate her credentials has expired, leading to an increase in ongoing investigations.
The governor emphasized the importance of clarifying these events and providing clarity to society as soon as possible. Gilberto Higuera Bernal, Attorney General of Puebla, has mentioned the alleged crimes committed by Cote, which include the prescription of documents without authorization, usurpation of profession, and forgery of documents. In this context, the Prosecutor's Office has conducted a search at the psychiatrist's office located in San Andrés Cholula, where evidence supporting the allegations against her has been found.
